Where Can I Take My Used Oil?

This is one of the most commonly asked questions from do-it-yourself oil changers. To find the answer, we suggest you try contacting whichever of the following sources you find most convenient:

  • Call a few local service stations. Some stations accept DIY used oil.
  • Contact your municipal government. Some communities maintain collection centers; others provide curbside pick-up; still others maintain lists of businesses that collect used oil.
  • Contact your county government office. They may be able to provide information on recycling centers in your area.
  • Contact your state government. To this end, we have provided the following state contacts on used oil in the US, listed below.
  • Use Earth's 911 Zipcode locator for a free listing of used oil collection centers in your immediate area.
